About me Sign Language Interpreting German as a Foreign Language Deaf Blind Research Projects

One key aspect of my studies, my work, and my outside activity was my volunteer work for and with deafblind people.

I served my voluntary social service (FSJ) in the Hermann-Gocht-Haus in Zwickau (a home for deaf old people) where I—among other things—assisted and accompanied deafblind people. During my studies in Magdeburg I wrote a term paper and my final thesis (PDF, German) about deafblind related topics. I also provided support services for deafblind individuals at several recreational retreats.

During my studies in Boston, USA I did an internship at the DBCAN. They organise assistants and events for deafblind people.
